These terms govern your use of TitanScan Pro. They are written to be read, not to be survived — if something here is unclear, ask and we will explain it plainly.
TitanScan Pro performs a read-only check of a website's publicly visible security configuration — the TLS certificate, HTTP response headers, cookie flags, DNS records including SPF and DMARC, and what the pages themselves disclose — and reports what it finds, with a score and an explanation.
It only makes requests that an ordinary visitor's browser could make. It does not attempt to gain access to anything, does not test for exploitable vulnerabilities, does not guess or submit credentials, and does not change anything on the site it looks at. It is not a penetration test and it is not a substitute for one. How the scanner works describes this in detail.
A good score means the checks we performed did not find problems. It is not a guarantee that a website is secure, and no score from any tool can be. Security depends on things no external check can see — your server, your code, your passwords, your people.
Findings are produced automatically. They can be wrong in both directions: a check may flag something that is deliberate and fine in your setup, or miss something that matters. Treat the report as informed input to your own judgement, not as a verdict. If a finding matters to you, verify it before acting on it, and take professional advice where the stakes justify it.
The same applies to accessibility. The accessibility scan and the Accessibility Report record the results of automated testing against WCAG 2.1 level AA on the pages tested. They are not a statement or certificate that a website conforms to WCAG, EN 301 549 or the European Accessibility Act, and they are not legal advice about whether that Act applies to you.
This score reflects the checks performed and is not a guarantee that a website is free from vulnerabilities.
You must be at least 18. You may scan websites you own, operate, or have permission to test. Scanning is not a licence to point the tool at anything you like — our acceptable use policy forms part of these terms and sets out what is not allowed. We may refuse, block or rate-limit any scan, any target, or any user, at our discretion and without notice, including where a site owner asks us to.
The scan itself is free. Two kinds of purchase unlock more:
Your right of withdrawal and our refund practice are set out in full on the refunds and cancellation page, which also forms part of these terms.
We intend to keep purchased reports reachable at their link indefinitely, and we will give reasonable notice before changing that. Nothing lasts forever, though, and a link is not a backup: download the PDF if the report matters to you.
The report is yours to use for your own purposes, including sharing it with your developer, your agency, your insurer or a client. You may not resell it, republish it as your own product, or present it as an independent certification of security. The software, the checks and the wording of the findings remain ours.
The service is provided as-is and as-available. We do not promise uninterrupted operation, and scans can fail for reasons on the target's side — a firewall, a rate limit, an outage — that are outside our control. A failed scan does not count against your daily limit.
We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under product liability law, and where we have given a guarantee.
For slight negligence we are liable only if we breach an essential obligation of the contract — one that makes proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on which you may regularly rely, such as delivering the report you paid for — and then only for the damage that was typically foreseeable when the contract was concluded. Beyond that, liability for slight negligence is excluded. Consumers' statutory rights are not affected.
In practice this means: we are not liable for a security incident on your website, whether or not the report mentioned it. This is the honest position rather than boilerplate: a report or a month of monitoring buys an automated external check. It cannot carry the risk of your business's security, and pricing it as though it could would be dishonest to both of us.
We may update these terms. The version in force for a purchase is the one published on the day you bought, and the date at the top of this page tells you which that is. Material changes will be announced on the site. If a change matters for a running Site Monitor subscription, we email you at least 30 days before it applies; if you don't want to continue under the new terms, cancel before then and it costs you nothing.
These terms are governed by Dutch law, and disputes go to the competent court in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, nor of your right to bring proceedings there.
